YAMAHA : WABASH

The Wabash is the ultimate terrain equalizer. This gravel/road bike is equally proficient on hard surfaces, dirt trails, and a variety of terrains. Every component on the Wabash has be geared towards offering confident stability and responsive control on sometimes unforgiving terrain, most noticeably with the custom-crafted flared road handlebar. The fact this is a Power Assist Bicycle, means you can spend even longer on your favorite trail, or explore different trails than you normally could.

At center-stage is a SRAM Apex 1 drivetrain connected to Yamaha’s center-mounted PWSeries SE motor, which offers four levels of Power Assist and a max speed support of 20mph. That is mounted to an all-aluminum frame and fork, which includes internal routing for all cables, offering a clean outside and better protection from the elements. The frame is already fitted with all mounting/wiring points for Yamaha’s optional front/rear fenders and rear rack, and offers internal and external wiring mounts for those who wish to add a dropper post. Stopping is handled by a powerful, reliable SRAM Apex 1 hydraulic disc brake system both front and rear.

The Triple Speed Sensor, integrated into the rear hub assembly, is another industry leading innovation found on the Wabash. This sensor is constantly taking readings of pedaling power, the bike’s rolling speed, and rpms of the pedals to better anticipate in realtime the adjustments needed to Power Assist levels to ensure a seamless, natural feeling ride through the duration of your trip. All this is handled behind the scenes, so you can pay attention to the road ahead.

The tough, ergonomic interface of the Multi-Function Meter displays all the stats you need, such as speeds, battery life, and time, and has an integrated multi-color LED indicator to allow you to see what Power Assist level you are engaged in at a glance. The computer is controlled with a conveniently placed ergonomic switch that can be easily operated with riding gloves.

The Wabash is one of the lightest bikes in its category, only 42.3lbs, and does not make any compromises in quality or features to get there. Lastly, it is equipped with a LED Headlight to help keep you safe on the road.

FEATURES

PWSeries SE Drive Unit

At the heart of Wabash is Yamaha’s awesome PWSeries SE center mount drive unit. Integrated to the bottom bracket, the drive unit provides a low center of gravity for exceptional handling. The four levels of Power Assist assure Wabash is adventure ready.

Yamaha 500Wh Battery

Yamaha’s 500 Watt-hour Lithium-ion battery pack provides reliable & long lasting energy to power your rides. You can charge the battery pack on or off Wabash using the Yamaha high speed charger.

Flared Handlebar

With inspiration from randonneur designs from an era when exploring on a bicycle was commonplace, our take on this classic design allows for greater stability and control while also giving space to fit larger handlebar bags.

Hydraulic Disc Brakes

SRAM Apex 1 hydraulic road disc brakes with 160mm center lock rotors ensure strong, confident braking in all conditions. Speaking of all conditions, Wabash’s fork has mounting tabs for easy installation of Yamaha’s accessory front fender.

SRAM APEX™ 1 Rear Derailleur

Wabash’s 11-speed shifting duties are handled by SRAM’s excellent Apex 1 rear derailleur which is designed to reduce shift force and eliminates ghost shifting.

Integrated Hub Speed Sensor

Exclusive to Yamaha Power Assist Bicycles is a speed sensor engineered into the rear hub. Our speed sensor recognizes the slightest change in bicycle speed and helps adjust motor input to deliver a smooth and natural power assist feel for the ultimate ride experience.

Compact Display

The easy to read LCD multi-function display is designed to keep your focus on what’s ahead. The main LCD interface allows you to choose from a full suite of functions; Speedometer, average speed, maximum speed, odometer, trip meter, battery capacity, battery range, cadence, clock and stopwatch.

LED Headlight

We equipped Wabash with a powerful LED headlight to help guide the way. The headlight’s on/off button is built into Wabash’s multi-function display housing for easy access while riding.

Semi-Knobby Tires

Whether riding on or off road, the Maxxis Speed Terrane tires are a balance of straight out speed for the pavement and grippy traction in the corners when getting down and dirty.

Dropper Seat Post Tabs

Just like our YDX-TORC, the Wabash is compatible with dropper posts that are equipped with either internal hose routing or external hose routing actuation.

Integrated Mounts for Optional Fender and Rear Rack

The fork on Wabash has built-in mounting tabs for easy installation of Yamaha’s accessory front fender. The built-in bosses on the Wabash frame are there to accept Yamaha’s accessory rear rack to help dial in your ultimate ride.
