YAMAHA : YDX-TORC

The YDX-TORC is a mountain/trail bike from the ground-up. It’s built off an all-aluminum 275 Hardtail frame Yamaha has named the “Pure Ride.” This e-bike strikes the balance of a playful, progressive feel while maintaining a stable handling characteristic for greater confidence inspiration. The integration of Yamaha’s new PW-X motor allows you greater range, and even the capability of riding to the trail.

At center-stage is a Shimano SLX Shadow 11-speed drivetrain connected to Yamaha’s compact, center-mounted PW-X motor, their lightest, most-responsive drive unit yet. The PW-X offers five levels of Power Assist, and a max speed support of 20mph, to assist you through every situation with a smooth, natural feeling ride. The drive is mounted to Yamaha’s “Pure Ride” all-aluminum frame and RockShox Recon Gold RL front fork, with compression adjustment and remote lock out. Additionally, all cables are routed through the frame for better protection from the elements, this includes both internal and external routing options for those wishing to add a dropper post. Thanks to the side-exiting battery, the YDX-TORC has a sloping top tube. When fine-tuning the different sizes offered, the unique stack and reach dimensions were created to increase control while riding down hill and to keep the front wheel planted while climbing. Stopping is handled by a powerful, reliable Shimano SLX hydraulic disc brake system both front and rear.

The Triple Speed Sensor, integrated into the rear hub assembly, is another industry leading innovation found on the YDX-TORC. This sensor is constantly taking readings of pedaling power, the bike’s rolling speed, and rpms of the pedals to better anticipate in realtime the adjustments needed to Power Assist levels to ensure a seamless, natural feeling ride through the duration of your trip. All this is handled behind the scenes, so you can pay attention to the road ahead.

The tough, ergonomic interface of the Multi-Function Meter displays all the stats you need, such as speeds, battery life, and time, and has an integrated multi-color LED indicator to allow you to see what Power Assist level you are engaged in at a glance. The computer is controlled with a conveniently placed ergonomic switch that can be easily operated with riding gloves.

The YDX-TORX is one of the lightest bikes in its category, only 46.7lbs, and does not make any compromises in quality or features to get there.
