GAS OUTBOARD MOTORS
Yamaha has been in the motor business for a long time, and have built their name on providing reliable, efficient outboard motors to customers. Yamaha offers a wide range of sizes, including at least two motor options for every Gheenoe we sell.
Below are a selection of motors we generally stock, but if you are looking for a larger motor, especially for hulls such as the 16’ Super and Lo-Tide 25 which can take bigger motors, contact us and we can get one of order for you and get it at the shop quickly.
Remember, any vessel you put any type of motor on (gas or electric) must be registered.
YAMAHA : 2.5HP 4-STROKE
The Yamaha 2.5hp is a solid, lightweight motor for propelling flat-back canoes and smaller flats skiffs. At 37lbs, this motor is incredibly easy to move around, especially useful for those who transport their boat without a trailer. While this isn’t big enough to plane a Gheenoe, it still makes an efficient option for the 13’ Hi-Sider.

YAMAHA : 4HP 4-STROKE
The Yamaha 4hp is a great option for the Gheenoe 13’ Hi-Sider, and a solid option for smaller skiffs. Its carry handle and 59lb weight make it easy to move around, especially when transporting a boat without a trailer. It features an integrated fuel tank, but also has a hookup for connecting an external tank.

YAMAHA : 9.9HP 4-STROKE
The Yamaha 9hp is a versatile motor we have seen attached to a wide range of boats. This size is ideal for the Gheenoe 15’4 Hi-Sider, putting it right at the recommended size, and easily planing the hull. At 87lbs, this motor is still manageable to move around when needed, but often times these motors are thru-bolted to Gheenoes which stay on trailers. The 9.9hp come standard with pull start, but can be outfitted with electric start.

The Yamaha 15hp is a tuned down 20hp, which we often have customers outfit on the Gheenoe 15’6 Classic. Like all Yamaha Outboards, this provides boaters with an efficient, reliable motor to put on their boat.
