ROOF RACKS : FOAM BLOCKS

This section includes affordable solutions to carry a kayak on your roof, whether you have a factory rack or nothing at all. You will also find straps which can be used with any system, and tie-down solutions for vehicles lacking tow-hooks.

These cam straps are a simple way to strap your kayak to your vehicle. They are easier to use than ratchet straps, and have less change of over-tightening. There can be used to strap your boat to a roof rack, foam blocks on the roof, to trailers, in the bed of trucks, and most anywhere else you need a tie down. They are color coded for size, and have sewn-in padding under the buckle, to avoid scratching your boat.

SALAMANDER : CANOE BLOCK

 

The Canoe Block is the easiest way to carry a canoe on a vehicle without roof racks. Four of these, wrapped around the gunwales, and you can easily strap your canoe down to most vehicles. These blocks have a non-skid bottom, ensuring they stay in place on strapped down.

The Yakima/Thule Block is a simple solution for giving your kayak’s hull better support on a flat bar, this is particular needed with composite touring kayaks, which have sharper bottoms that don’t always want to lay flat. The cutout easily wraps around round/square bars.
